A DOCX template is ready to upload, test, and reuse for PDF or editable DOCX generation through MindX.
Step 1
Design the template
- Start from the approved document.
Use the latest company letterhead, invoice, certificate, report, or HR document as the template base.
- Keep layout stable.
Use Word tables, headers, footers, styles, and page margins intentionally.
- Mark dynamic fields.
Replace variable text with placeholders such as {{customer_name}}, {{invoice_number}}, {{amount}}, or {{report_date}}.
Step 2
Prepare data mapping
- Name placeholders clearly.
Use simple snake_case field names that match JSON keys or SQL aliases.
- Model repeating rows.
For line items, salary rows, or task lists, use a repeatable table row pattern supported by the target endpoint.
- Separate display text from data.
Format labels and static copy in the DOCX. Send only changing values in JSON or query results.
Step 3
Upload and test
- Upload the DOCX template.
Open Dashboard > Templates, choose DOCX, upload the file, and copy the generated template_id.
- Send a small test payload.
Call the template endpoint with sample JSON or SQL-driven data and confirm placeholders are replaced.
- Maintain versions.
Record template name, template_id, owner, effective date, and change reason.
